Divine Tableau Area Chart Multiple Measures
When you turn off the mark labels you can create visualizations that can use more than 2 mark types.
Tableau area chart multiple measures. Drag Measure Names to Color on the Marks card. Hold down the Control key Command key on Mac while clicking to multiple select Date Promo and Sales then choose area charts discrete in Show Me. To create one with multiple measures we will use Measure Names and Order Date as Dimensions and Measure Values as measures.
Drag the Profit measure to Rows and drop it to the right of the Sales measure. Creating a Dual Axis Bar. Simply drag them onto that axis.
Right-click Measure Values on the Rows shelf and select Dual axis. Use a separate bar for each dimension Drag a dimension to Columns. To blend multiple measures drag one measure or axis and drop it onto an existing axis.
Tableau 20204 and unlimited map layers is a game-changer. This lesson is a continuation of an earlier lesson. Instead of adding rows and columns to the view when you blend measures there is a single row or column and all of the values for each measure is shown along one continuous axis.
Tableau creates separate axes along the left margin for Sales and Profit. If you want to add 3 or more measures to a line chart you need to take a different approach than in regular charts. You need to pivot some of your data.
It also allows you to remove measure names and measure values from your visualizations. Otherwise check out my first Tableau lesson. If you are already familiar with Tableau feel free to continue on.
