Impressive Excel Graph With Dates On X Axis
I attached a copy of the Excel file and a screenshot of what the X-axis.
Excel graph with dates on x axis. Replace the existing range with Sheet1XValues. Click on Edit under Horizontal Category Axis Labels. See below screen shot.
Use that number in the dialog for Major. The next label should remain F. When you are creating a line column or bar chart Excel will automatically treat date data as a Date axis.
Right click the axis you will change data format and select Format Axis from right-clicking menu. Ive tried a few of Excels standard date formats as well as one or two custom formats in the charts source data and have selected Date as the category in Axis Options in Format Shape. Somehow I gather Excels chart system is interpreting it all as strings not dates.
Make the first series a Line chart series so you have a nice date scale axis then add any additional series and change them to XY type series. In the chart right-click the category axis and then click Format Axis. I have chosen a single letter for the month.
Excel Formatting X-Axis Specifying Date axis does not give additional bounding options I have a series of tables each feeding into its own graph. Group two-level axis labels with Pivot Chart in Excel. In the Format Axis pane select the Axis Options tab.
But the two other data series are not. I have a simple time series chart with date labels on the x-axis. Now the new created column chart has a two-level X axis and in the X axis date labels are grouped by fruits.
